Myopia :
Nearsightedness, also called myopia, occurs when the cornea is too curved or the eye is elongated causing light entering the eye to focus incorrectly. People with nearsightedness focus images in front of the light-sensitive part of the eye, the retina, causing blurred distance vision. Nearby images appear clear. |

Hyperopia or Long-sightedness
Farsightedness, also known as hyperopia, is a common visual condition that is the opposite of myopia. Farsightedness occurs when the eye is too short or the cornea is misshapen resulting in blurry close vision. People with farsightedness focus images behind the retina, instead of directly on it, causing nearby objects to be blurry. Generally, those with farsightedness see images clearly at a distance although occasionally, these may also appear blurry. |

Astigmatism
' Astigmatism' is a condition that is caused by an irregularly shaped cornea or an irregularly shaped lens. In Astigmatism, the unequal power in different meridians of the cornea causes rays of light to form a distorted line instead of focusing on a point. This results in the blurring of both distant and near vision.

Presbyopia
This condition is caused due to the eye's normal aging process in which a person is unable to focus on the near objects clearly due to the decrease in the elasticity of the normal lens. This loss of elasticity limits the ability of the eye to change its point of focus from distance to near. It starts at the age of about forty years.
